Using candidata24

CandiData is available in three formats:

  • Dashboard: Available to the public, dashboards provide open access to aggregated content/data shared by candidates for office. Dashboards allow users to search, sort, and filter content in various formats. We ask that users please cite CandiData as the source of the data. 

  • Coming Soon — Social Media Handle Data: Available to the public via Github, this dataset contains all social media handles identified for each candidate, including campaign accounts for all candidates and official office accounts for incumbents. 

  • Coming Soon — Raw Post Data: This data will be made available via SOMAR and governed by its policies.

  • Rapid Response Research: If you are interested in using this data for rapid response research, please contact us directly at info@candidata24.org

Licensing and Terms of Use

Our data is governed by a Creative Commons license: CC BY-SA 4.0

For access to raw post data, please apply via SOMAR. You will be asked to create an account, submit a short description of how you plan to use the data, and complete a click-through data use agreement.

Social Media Handle Data and Dashboards

Social media handle data will be available to all via Github.

Any user can access publicly available dashboards under “Explore the Data.”
